Trey McNutt’s Mother Shared First Message

McNutt’s mother, LaToya, posted three pictures of Trey with the caption, “Happy 18th Birthday, Trey. I love You, Mom.”

Trey responded with the Love You Ma post back to her on Instagram.

Trey doesn’t often share his private life on social media and is known for his talent on the field and quiet nature.

Trey’s commitment to Oregon, for which he signed a letter of intent on Dec. 3rd, will see the safety and wide receiver, a Senior from Shaker Heights High School in Ohio, play for Oregon in 2025.

He was ranked the nation’s No. 1 player at safety and the first-ever five-star safety recruit for the Ducks. He also had offers from Texas A&M, Ohio State, the University of Florida, and the University of Southern California.

In a News 5 Cleveland article, LaToya discussed Trey’s dispute with Ohio’s 7-on-7 football rule.

“Trey has always been an athlete; I think he was kind of born one,” LaToya said.

Her defense of Trey in his battle with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) over his suspension for playing in the 7-on-7 further showed her love and commitment for Trey.

“He’s standing up for what he believes in,” LaToya said.

The Shakerite also shared pictures of Trey with his high school coach, Alex Nicholson, who complemented Trey’s work ethic.

“After my workout, I’d get out of the locker room, and he’s here at 7 [a.m.] doing work when he doesn’t need to be here until 8:30,” said Nicholson. “He is always the first one in the door.”
