Since becoming head coach of Ole Miss in 2019, Lane Kiffin has brought new energy to the football program, helping the Rebels win big games and finish strong seasons. He has led the team to several winning records, including 11 wins in 2023 and 10 wins in 2024, along with bowl victories.
His creative offense and strong recruiting have made Ole Miss more competitive nationally. But despite this success, some fans believe the team is capable of more. As the 2025 season approaches, Kiffin is dealing with spring injuries and roster changes, and he’ll need to build depth and keep the team sharp to meet rising expectations.

Lane Kiffin Expresses His Thoughts
After a recent practice, Kiffin spoke honestly about the team’s current challenges, especially at key positions. “There’s some injuries there with some guys not practicing,” Kiffin said. “So, that’s part of the concern, too. There’s just not a lot of numbers there, and certainly not much experience playing.
It’s just something we’ll have to work through and continue to push guys. Hopefully, when these guys, a couple of guys, come back from injuries, it’ll look better.” His comments reflect the importance of staying healthy and developing younger players as Ole Miss gears up for another competitive season.

The Rebels are facing some tough challenges in their secondary during 2025 spring training. Key defensive backs Jaylon Braxton and Cedrick Beavers are both dealing with injuries, leaving the team thin at an important position.
Braxton, a promising young cornerback, has been out since early in the 2024 season and still isn’t back on the field. Beavers’ injury only adds to the problem as the team works to rebuild after losing star cornerback Trey Amos, who played a big role in last season’s strong defense.
With no clear return date for either player, the Rebels may need younger athletes or new faces to step up fast.

As spring training continues, Ole Miss will need its younger players to rise to the occasion and help fill the gaps, with hopes that injured starters return in time to boost the secondary before the season kicks off.
