The 2025 college football season is a few months away, and the 2024 national champion Ohio State Buckeyes are already looking forward to the future. Luke Fahey is a 6’0″ three-star quarterback from Mission Viejo HS in Southern California.
He’s currently being recruited by multiple programs, including Ohio State, Stanford, Indiana, and Oklahoma State. He’s also ranked the 29th-best player at his position in the Class of 2026 per 247Sports. If Ohio State can land him, one insider thinks he could be a Buckeye great.

College Football Insider Feels Luke Fahey Could Be Ohio State’s Next Superstar QB
Although Ohio State is courting Luke Fahey, he also has interest from other programs. Still, Fahey did call Ohio State a dream school for him and his parents, although he’s yet to receive an official offer.
Ohio State has been trying to secure quarterbacks in the 2026 class, but it lost some of its targets to other programs. An Ohio State insider believes Fahey could be “the guy” for Ryan Day.
“I think the Buckeyes have now found their guy. I think they’ve found their guy. And he’s out of Mission Viejo, and if that sounds familiar, that’s Phillip Bell’s high school,” he said, alluding to a four-star 2025 receiver committed to the Buckeyes.
“Bell’s a freshman wide receiver at OSU who’s is surprising a lot of people and is looking fantastic, well back when Luke Fahey was a sophomore, he’s the one that was throwing all the touchdowns to Philip Bell at Mission Viejo, and he’s about 6’1″ [sic]…he plays a real improvising game, got a good arm, he can run, he’s mobile, he’s a competitor.”
As a junior, Fahey completed over 76 percent of his attempts for 1,638 yards and 17 touchdowns with zero interceptions. Fahey currently has 26 offers and has made three visits.

The visits were to Oklahoma State, Stanford, and Indiana, indicating that those three may be the ones in the lead for the potential star.
While Ohio State is yet to send him an offer, it appears Ryan Day and the Buckeyes will have an edge after Fahey told On3, “It’s a dream school for me and my parents!”
