The rookie camp performance of Jack Kiser has the Jacksonville Jaguars pleased with how his skills are made for the pro game.

Jack Kiser Draws Early Praise From Jaguars After Rookie Mini Camp
Former Notre Dame linebacker Kiser has made a notable impact in his rookie mini camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, enough to be considered the team’s number one defensive standout so far. Considering that the team made a splashy move up to acquire former University of Colorado defensive back and wide receiver Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft, its a huge compliment.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said former Notre Dame linebacker Jack Kiser was the No. 1 defensive standout at rookie mini camp.
“You can tell he already has some of those leadership qualities that you look for. He’s in really good physical shape.”

“Just from a diligence standpoint. You can tell he’s already has some of those leadership qualities that you look for. He’s in really good physical shape coming into camp here this weekend.” said Jaguars head coach Liam Coen to reporters at the team’s mini-camp.
Kiser’s performance does match his collegiate resume. During his six years as a member of the Fighting Irish football team, he was lauded for his leadership, which resulted in him being called “Mr. Notre Dame” and being named team captain during the team’s National Football Championship run. Kiser led the team with 90 tackles in 2024 and was Notre Dame’s Special Teams Player of the Year in 2023.
The 24-year-old from Royal Creek, Indiana, was chosen with the 107th pick by Jacksonville in this year’s draft, with scouts praising him for his “intangibly rich” skill set. At 6-foot-2 and 234 pounds, scouts have noted that he’s had some inconsistencies, but according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, “Kiser’s ability to play on third down and special teams boosts his chances of becoming a backup inside linebacker.”

Another draft expert, Dane Brugler, noted how Kiser “covers a lot of ground and moves smoothly in everything he does.” Brugler also highlighted that the former “Mr. Indiana” football star excelled at matching up against tight ends and running backs in coverage, which the Jaguars hope to capitalize on with their defensive schemes next season.
