The NFL and Woody Johnson are curtailing players’ abilities to speak out about working conditions at their respective franchises, even anonymously. The league has filed a grievance against the NFL Players Association, requesting that the organization cease publishing the annual team report cards. The annual team report cards are a system through which the NFLPA grades teams’ workplace environment based on anonymous surveys from its players.
NFL owners have filed a grievance against the NFLPA to stop the annual report cards. #Jets owner Woody Johnson called them “totally bogus” and was the one behind it, per @DVNJr.
Johnson received an F grade from his players last year.

According to reports from the press, Woody Johnson was the one behind the move. In the most recent reports, Johnson’s organization, the New York Jets, got an F. Fans found Woody Johnson’s actions disgraceful.
“God forbid some of these guys have to hear about their shortcomings,” wrote one fan
“Doing everything but selling the team. You’re a laughing stock and a disgrace. You will always be a failure because you take no accountability. You’ve done nothing with your life aside from inheriting billions and being a massive POS, @woodyjohnson4,” explained someone else
“Lmaoooo I mean they are pretty damn accurate. Woody Johnson is the worst owner of all sports by a mile!,” wrote another person
Should the New York Jets player complain?
“Maybe file a grievance against the jets for treating their players horribly,” demanded someone else
“yeah man let’s get rid of one of the only things that holds them accountable,” joked another person
A few fans did agree with the Jets owner.
“I effing hate Woody with the heat of 10,000 suns and would love nothing more than him to no longer own the Jets or be involved with the NFL. But he’s not wrong,” said one fan
What’s The NFL and Woody Johnson’s Rationale For The Decision?
According to the NFL, the reports violate the league’s collective bargaining agreement. Specifically, the CBA states that owners and the players’ union must:
“use reasonable efforts to curtail public comments by club personnel or players which express criticism of any club, its coach, or its operation and policy,”
The NFLPA has reacted to the news, stating they will fight the decision:
“We have responded to the grievance with our intention to fight against this action and continue what’s clearly become an effective tool for comparing workplace standards across the league and equipping you to make informed career decisions,” the NFLPA wrote in its email to players.
It does seem like the move is a serious attempt by NFL owners to quash any voice of dissent from inside their organizations.
