“Closer to a Plumber”: Fans Troll J.J McCarthy’s Game Day Outfit Ahead of Vikings Game Against Detroit Lions

Before heading to Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, J.J. McCarthy made his return to action as the rookie quarterback was the subject of unexpected trolling on social media.

McCarthy was seen in a blue button-up shirt over a black t-shirt and black pants, walking through the team tunnel at Ford Field. 22-year-old McCarthy carried a bag with his initials ‘JJ’ sewn to the shirt.

This prompted fans to mercilessly troll JJ and his appearance on X:

“His shirt is perfect. Because he’s closer to a plumber than a nfl quarterback”, stated a fan.

“Clocking in to fix the pipes underneath your sink”, remarked a fan.

“Dress for the job you want, not the job you have”, a fan quoted.

“LOL. Halloween was two days ago”, said a fan.

“Hell yeah blue collar. Tuition at his high school is $100k/yr”, commented a fan.

“This is the corniest shit I’ve ever seen”, stated another fan.

Meanwhile, some fans were also appreciative of JJ’s outfit:

“That boy drippy”, noted a fan.

“He certainly looks confident”, commented another fan.

McCarthy, having missed five consecutive games with a high-ankle sprain, will look to reclaim his starting role at tonight’s game against the Lions.

Kevin O’Connell Reaffirms McCarthy’s Return After Ankle Injury

The Detroit Lions enter Sunday’s matchup boasting a 5-2 record and the league’s third-ranked offense in points per game. Meanwhile, Minnesota sits at a disappointing 3-4, with its offense ranked just 18th in scoring.

Meanwhile, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell has publicly backed McCarthy, whilst also giving an injury update on the young quarterback. Meanwhile, McCarthy said he’s ready to go ahead of this fixture.

The coaching staff watched him participate fully in practice this week without any setbacks, which prompted the decision to thrust him back into the starting lineup.

Before McCarthy got sidelined due to his injury, he completed 58.5% of his passes while throwing for 301 yards, while also managing two touchdown passes against three interceptions, with his EPA per play ranking last among qualified quarterbacks.
