Maxwell Hairston Injury Update: What We Know About Bills CB After Texans Defeat

Buffalo rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston has struggled with his health this season. He missed the first six games of the year recovering from a PCL injury. In the five games he has played since, he has performed well, recording two interceptions for the Bills. However, on Thursday against the Houston Texans, he suffered another injury.

Hairston went down in the third quarter against the Texans and is being evaluated for a concussion. No further update has been provided. Hairston is one of three players for whom the Buffalo Bills PR account tweeted an update on Thursday night.

Injury Updates: – Spencer Brown’s shoulder was evaluated for an injury and he’s been cleared to return. – Terrel Bernard (elbow) is OUT for the game. – Maxwell Hairston is being evaluated for a concussion.”

    When Will Maxwell Hairston Return?

Since Maxwell Hairston is being evaluated for a concussion, he will need to go through concussion protocol before he can return to the Buffalo Bills’ lineup. So, even if he does not have a concussion, he will need to go through several steps to return to play. This is true for all players who appear to suffer head injuries.

It is possible for players to complete concussion protocol in a week, allowing them to play a game only a week after suffering the injury, but it is not always easy. Fortunately for the Bills, they have an extended break because they played in Thursday Night Football.

The Bills lost 23-19 to the Texans on Thursday, putting their playoff hopes at risk. They will now have an extended break before playing the Steelers on Nov. 30. Not only will this give the team more time to prepare after losing to the Texans, it will give Maxwell Hairston more time to recover from his head injury. So, he could play in the Bills’ next game.

However, that is all hinging on Hairston’s injury not being severe. If he suffered a more severe concussion, it is possible that he will be out for the rest of the season. Fans will need to wait for an update from the Bills.
