Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Joe Alt suffered what looks like an ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. During a play late in the second quarter, a Titans defensive player grabbed Alt by the ankle. The offensive lineman was unable to stand up in the aftermath and had to be carted off from the field after the play.

He is considered questionable to return later in this game. This isn’t Joe Alt’s first injury of the season, as he has missed three games due to a sprained right ankle. He returned to action recently, on October 23rd, when the Chargers defeated the Minnesota Vikings.

As he was carted off the field, Alt was seen holding onto his lower right leg, and his right knee seemed somewhat bent.
Joe Alt And The Los Angeles Chargers’ Depleted Offensive Line
Joe Alt was supposed to start the season at right tackle in 2025, but he ultimately ended up playing as the Chargers’ starting left tackle. This is because starting left tackle Rashawn Slater suffered a season-ending injury during preseason training camp, forcing Alt to move to left tackle and adapt.
At the time of the move, Alt had this to say:
“I’ve played both sides now, I’ve played right and played left, so I’m comfortable on both,” Alt said. “It just breaks down to reps, repeated reps.”
“Making sure muscle memory is there and really the quickness I got to do out of my stance is what I have to work on,” Alt added.
At the end of the third quarter, the Los Angeles Chargers are leading the Tennessee Titans 20-17.
