Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy has struggled with his health this season. After appearing in the first two weeks of the season, he was out for nearly two months because of an injury. However, he returned in early November, helping the Vikings pick up a win over Detroit, before losing to Baltimore last week. Unfortunately for the Vikings, he appeared on the injury report again this week.
What Happened to J.J. McCarthy?
J.J. McCarthy played the last two games for the Vikings after returning from an early-season injury. Against Baltimore on Sunday, he hit his hand on the helmet of a Ravens defender following a throw. As a result, he has been on the injury report this week with a right-hand injury.
On Wednesday, McCarthy appeared on the injury report as a limited participant at practice. However, on Thursday, he was upgraded to a full participant, and as a result, he is expected to play this weekend against Chicago.
Is J.J. McCarthy Playing Week 11?
Yes, J.J. McCarthy is expected to play in Week 11 against Chicago. While he appeared on the injury report early in the week, he was upgraded to a full participant at practice on Thursday. As a result, unless he suffers a setback, he is expected to be available for the Vikings when they take on the Bears.

J.J. McCarthy Fantasy Outlook
J.J. McCarthy’s availability is not something fantasy owners need to worry about any longer. While he struggled to stay healthy early in the year, he now appears healthy and ready to lead the Vikings for the rest of the season. However, that does not mean he has a positive fantasy outlook.
According to Fantasy Pros, McCarthy is the No. 13-ranked QB in fantasy football. That makes him a somewhat viable starter in most leagues, but does not make him a great option. Most teams will have a better option available and should start them instead. However, he is a solid option as a backup or waiver wire pickup.
