New York Giants rookie Cam Skattebo’s girlfriend Chloe shared a heartwarming reaction to the running back’s important surgery update on Monday. Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle while trying to catch a reception in the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Skattebo underwent his surgery on Monday and posted an update about his health through social media. He wrote:
“Thank you everyone for the support!! Surgery went well. I just want to thank the city of Philly for taking the best care of me. Every moment I spent in the hospital with family and friends I felt loved and supported in every way ❤️ thank you to the doctors, surgeons, and staff that did their best work on me.”
He also shared his gratitude for the Almighty in his message:
“This is just the beginning of my journey and I can’t wait to show you guys all about it!!! GOD has a plan for me, stick the course and it will all work itself out, BRB.”
Skattebo’s girlfriend Chloe reposted the message on her Instagram story and added a blue heart, signaling her support in the rookie’s recovery.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll relayed a text from Skattebo to the team:
“Spirits are good.” (Text sent around 4:08 a.m. after surgery)
Talking to reporters after Tuesday’s practice, the head coach said:
“All went well. He’s recovering. Obviously he’ll be missed. On the road to recovery.”

Cam Skattebo and Chloe Rodriguez met while the running was still at Sacramento State. Skattebo played for the football team while Chloe was a cheerleader and track/gymnastics-instructor.
Chloe has been supportive of running back’s journey to the NFL. After he was selected in the 2025 NFL draft by the Giants, she celebrated the achievement on Instagram, saying:
“I love supporting you, keep making us proud. ❤️ time to head back east, go @nygiants!”
