Calvin Ridley Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Titans WR Ahead of Week 9

The Tennessee Titans are having an unsurprisingly poor season. One of the players the Titans were hoping would have a strong season is wide receiver Calvin Ridley. However, after two straight 1000+ yard seasons, Ridley has only 16 receptions for 290 yards in six games. He has also dealt with injuries, which have kept him out of the team’s past two games.

    What Happened to Calvin Ridley?

Calvin Ridley has been dealing with a hamstring injury for the past several weeks. He last appeared on Oct. 12 in the Titans’ 20-10 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He was not available against the Patriots or Colts in the past two weeks.

Is Calvin Ridley Playing Week 9?

As things stand, there has been no indication from the Titans’ coaching staff that Ridley will return in Week 9. There has been very little talk about his status, but he is listed as questionable ahead of Week 9.

Ridley’s status will likely hinge on his availability at practice this week. If he is a full participant by Friday, fans should expect to see Ridley in the lineup this week. However, until that happens, he should be viewed as questionable to play for the Titans.

    Calvin Ridley Fantasy Outlook

Before the start of the season, Ridley was viewed as an interesting fantasy option. He was coming off two strong seasons and would be a top option for rookie quarterback Cam Ward. However, even when he has been healthy, he has struggled. So, he is not likely to regain much of his fantasy value.

However, he could get some value later in the season if he his traded before the NFL trade deadline in early November. Several teams have reportedly inquired about him, but the Titans are hesitant to trade him.

Fantasy Replacements If Calvin Ridley Misses Week 9

If you are looking for a waiver wire replacement for Calvin Ridley, there are likely several interesting options available. Denver’s Troy Franklin, Las Vegas’s Tre Tucker, and Tennessee’s Chimeere Dike are all solid options who could be available in your league.
