Despite being without one of their best players the last five games, as running back Bucky Irving has been sidelined, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have still been able to control the NFC South, standing at first place with a 6-3 record heading into Week 11.
The Bucs are a few games ahead of the second place Carolina Panthers, who are 5-5. The Bucs have been an injury-depleted team, but have rallied around quarterback Baker Mayfield. As the Bucs take on the Buffalo Bills this weekend, it doesn’t sound too good for their backfield.
Bucky Irving Injury Update
Bucky Irving suffered multiple Week 4 injuries that has kept him sidelined since. In the Buccaneers’ team loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, Irving left the game as he suffered foot and shoulder injuries. The shoulder injury was the more serious of the two, which has kept the Bucs star RB out of action.
Will Bucky Irving Play This Week vs. Bills?
No, Bucky Irving will be inactive for yet another game this week. Head coach Todd Bowles ruled out Irving and wide receiver Chris Godwin on Friday afternoon. Both players are making steady progress and could be active next week.
#Bucs coach Todd Bowles told reporters that RB Bucky Irving and WR Chris Godwin are both out for Sunday. But progress this week…

Bucky Irving Fantasy Outlook
Prior to his injury, Bucky Irving led the team in rushing yards with 237 and had 19 receptions for 193 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Seeing that he had 90 total touches, 430 total yards, and two touchdowns prior to his injury, he seemed to be primed for another productive season. When he returns, he will still be a good RB to start in fantasy.
Fantasy Replacements For Bucky Irving
If you’re able to or if you still have one of them on your fantasy team, start either Tampa Bay running backs Rachaad White or Sean Tucker. Both have split the backfield with White being the lead back.
Other solid options to start in place for Irving is Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier, who has six rushing touchdowns this season.
