Nebraska QB Prospect Braylen Warren Opens Up About Relationship With National Champion Father

Braylen Warren is a four-star quarterback recruit in the class of 2027 and is ranked as 247Sports’ No. 2 overall prospect from Nebraska.

Warren has received offers from 17 Division I programs and is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after recruits in his class. Warren isn’t the only great football player in his family, though. He’s the son of Nebraska Cornhuskers legend Steven Warren. In a recent interview, he opened up about their relationship.

Braylen Warren Speaks on His Relationship With Legendary Father

It’s not often that a high school player who is going through the recruiting process has a dad who’s gone through it as well.

But that’s exactly the case for Braylen, whose father, Steven, was a high-profile recruit himself.

In an interview with “HuskersOnline,” Braylen was asked about the support he has from his father. “That’s the biggest thing, that’s my biggest support, and with him I am truly, truly blessed to have him as my father,” he said. “Without that, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and he’s just supported me through these ups and downs.”

Steven Warren won the national title with the Cornhuskers in 1999. Now, he looks to guide his son through the NIL landscape of recruiting.

That kind of support is awesome to have in today’s recruiting era, as high school athletes, especially quarterbacks, find that recruiting processes can become a whirlwind. “It started right after the season,” Braylen said. “I got Kansas State, and then it kind of just ramped up from there. In the past four months, I think I’ve got 13 offers.”

Warren is entering his junior season, but next offseason will be critical for him. College football coaches will officially be able to contact him as well as get him on campus for official visits.

Warren is coming off an amazing sophomore year where he threw for 2,105 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions in 13 games. If he can follow up last year with another great season this year, then his college recruitment is only going to explode more.

Warren isn’t letting it get to his head, though. He seems to be enjoying every step of the process, saying, “It’s been amazing, I’m truly blessed to have this process, cause not many people get this opportunity that I have.”

Regardless of where his recruitment goes, Warren appears to be an amazing young man. With the support of his legendary father, he should be able to keep his head on his shoulders as he continues to rise.
