Nikola Jokic Hilariously Downplays Caitlin Clark’s Best Player Remark: “We Have The Same Agent”

Nikola Jokic had a candid reaction to Caitlin Clark calling him the best player in the world. Clark appeared on NBC’s pregame broadcast ahead of the Nuggets-Warriors game.

She gave her thoughts on the NBA’s MVP race, speaking highly of the Denver Nuggets center.

“There aren’t many people that average a triple-double,” Clark said. “You’re lucky enough to get maybe a couple of those in a season. He’s done it all year long, in back-to-back years. It’s pretty incredible. Honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch and I think he’s the best player in the world.”

After the game, Jokic was asked for his thoughts on Clark’s comments. He gave a candid reply, downplaying Clark’s compliments.

“We have the same agent. That’s why she said that,” Jokic said.

Jokic and Clark are represented by Excel Sports Management. While Jokic has his own team at the agency, Clark’s agent is Erin Kane.

Jokic is averaging 27.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 10.8 assists per game, shooting 57.3%, including a career-high 38.5% from 3-point range. This marks his second consecutive season averaging a triple-double. He has helped the Nuggets to fourth place in the Western Conference, with the team holding a 48-28 record.

The center’s production and his team’s success have seen him emerge as a frontrunner for the MVP award next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama.

Nikola Jokic makes history with dominant performance in win against Warriors

Jokic finished Monday’s game with 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, ending the Warriors’ winning streak. According to the Real App, Jokic is now the NBA center with the most 25+ point games on 50/40/90 shooting.

Jokic’s performance ruined a perfect shooting night from Kristaps Porzingis, who finished with 23 points, going 5-for-5 from 3-point range. The Nuggets have now won six games in a row and are on a roll ahead of the playoffs.

The Nuggets will return to action against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday before kicking off a four-game homestand, starting with a game against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. With 16 games missed this season, Jokic is at risk of falling short of the NBA’s 65-game criteria for major awards.
