Every year, the country’s best football recruits are invited to play in high school all-star games. In 2025, one of the most well-known of these events has a new sponsor and a new name. So, what is the Navy All-American Bowl?
What is the Navy All-American Bowl
Originially sponsored by the American Army and branded the Army All-American Bowl from 2000-2018, the All-American Bowl is a showcase of the top high school football talent from around the country. Put on by NBC Sports and other sponsors, the game is one of the largest high school all-star games in football, along with the UnderArmour All-American Game, typically played the week before.
In 2019, the title sponsor changed from the U.S. Army to American Family Insurance, remaining with that company through 2024. In October of last year, the bowl announced that it would be renamed that Navy All-American Bowl starting in 2025.
This year, some of the top talent in the country is gathered to play in the Navy All-American Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBC. The group is headlined by a strong group of offensive tackles that includes David Sanders Jr., a Tennessee Volunteers signee who is considered one of the top overrall prospects in the country.
Who is Playing in the Navy All-American Bowl?
Historically, All-American games have been a popular time for players to announce their college commitments. However, that’s changed as the condensed recruiting calendar has led to the majority of top players signing during the Early Signing Period in mid-December.
To combat this, the Navy All-American Bowl, like other all-star games, has decided to invite several prospects from the 2026 class to the game.
There will be six commitments during the game, headlined by four-star receiver Cameron Sparks, who is set to choose between the Arkansas Razorbacks, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Mississippi State Bulldogs. The 2025 Baylor (TN) School wide receiver is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the senior class.
His 2026 teammate, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, is the highest-profile prospect to commit at the Alamodome in San Antonio as he’s set to pick between a slew of SEC and Big Ten powers.
The East team has two quarterbacks in the top 25 of our 2025 quarterback rankings, Memphis Tigers signee Antwann Hill Jr. and SMU Mustangs signee Ty Hawkins.
On the West team, 2026 Notre Dame commit Noah Grubbs is just outside the top 10 in our 2026 quarterback rankings and could continue his meteoric rise with another strong performance..
