According to the tweet of Hayes Fawcett, Michigan wide receiver and cornerback Amorion Walker is looking forward to entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. It is not the first time that the 6’3″, 182-pound wide receiver is entering the transfer portal.
After transferring to Ole Miss in the Spring of 2024, Walker returned to the Wolverines for the 2024 season. As the transfer portal is about to open on April 16th, Michigan football might lose its key CB.

Amorion Walker’s Journey with Michigan
The cornerback appeared in only four games, with one start as a wide receiver, for Michigan in the 2024 season. His season concluded with only three passes for 34 yards.

In the first two campaigns with the Wolverines, Amorim Walker made 11 appearances, had three tackles, and had four catches throughout his career.
Even after making up his mind to depart from the program back in the 2023 season, the CB mentioned that he never had any disdain with Michigan. Prior to the 2024 season, Walker had this to say regarding his unusual offseason:
“I wouldn’t say it was a specific moment,” Walker stated when asked why he chose to return to Michigan. “Even when I left, it was constant check-in with those guys. And they always uplifted me and made sure I was good and just trying to put myself in the best position. Those were the guys I wanted to be around.”
As per the records, Amorim Walker will be the 25th Michigan player entering into the transfer portal this offseason. But it’s not all bad news for Michigan, as they have added 14 players via the transfer portal this offseason.
One of the highlights of these transfers is none other than Justin Haynes, who recorded 49 carries for 448 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his previous campaign with Alabama.
Ron Bellamy’s Response to Why Walker Did Not Have a Jersey Number
On Monday, Ron Bellamy was asked to explain why the wide receiver did not have a jersey number.
“He’s just working through something right now,” Bellamy replied. “Just trying to get healthy, working through something.”
To probe further, the pass game coordinator was further asked if the CB has been practicing at all.

“Working through something,” The wide receivers coach said, declining to share any other information.
As the situation stands, the 6’3″ WR/CB leaves Michigan with 4 catches for 38 yards on offense in addition to 3 tackles. Walker is the second player to enter the transfer portal this week for the Wolverines, as the defensive lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti is already on the lookout for a new college football home as well.
