The college football transfer portal is officially open. With that comes new opportunities, chances, and even goals for the college football world, whether it be players or teams. For Texas A&M, they will need to move on without their five-star wide receiver, Micah Hudson.
First reported by 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz, Hudson has re-entered the portal after transferring from Texas Tech to Texas A&M in the winter. Hudson’s entry into the portal isn’t a shock, as he left the team ahead of spring practice, which Texas A&M Mike Elko confirmed at the time. So, where may Hudson end up?

Landing Spots for Micah Hudson As He Enters the Transfer Portal
Michigan
If Hudson were to follow the money, he should land on the Michigan Wolverines. It may sound a little crazy to land a massive pass-catching threat like Hudson in the portal for an offense like Michigan, which clearly could not throw the ball down the field in 2024. However, with their recruitment of Bryce Underwood, that’s changing in Ann Arbor.
Underwood is set to potentially rewrite the NIL earnings market. The Wolverines can spend on big-time players and massive targets. If Hudson is looking to leave the state of Texas, Michigan could be on the top of that list. However, they may have some competition when it comes to other big teams looking to land big players like Hudson.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are expected to pop up for every big-time receiver that may enter the portal this season, even if it’s not necessarily Brian Hartline’s game. Hartline is a world-renowned recruiter at the position and hasn’t even dipped into the waters of the portal over the past few seasons.
However, Hudson is a player who could more than break that mold. It’s important to note that Hartline heavily recruited Hudson out of high school, and he rarely misses on top receiving prospects. With Emeka Egbuka and a handful of seniors on their way out, a seat at the table should open up for a player like Hudson.
Texas
If Hudson should choose to stay in-state and remain in Texas, there is no bigger program than the Longhorns. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and company were very involved in Hudson’s recruitment out of high school and are very familiar with him because of it. Isaiah Bond is just one example of the Longhorns’ ability to plug in portal athletes and play them at a high level.
Texas could very well be a spot for Hudson. If Hudson’s goals are to play the biggest games against the best opponents and showcase his talent for the next level, don’t be surprised to see the Longhorns as the landing spot for this five-star wide receiver.
LSU
LSU is another school who could be in the market for a wide receiver like Hudson. The current LSU wide receiver coach, Cortez Hankton, once tried to lure Hudson to Baton Rouge out of high school, and you have to believe that Hankton could have his eyes on Hudson in the portal.
The Tigers are going to likely usher in a new era at quarterback, which very well could come into play here. However, if they should be able to answer their quarterback questions, Hudson could very well find his next home on the Bayou.
Colorado
The final big team that Hudson could find himself on is the Colorado Buffaloes. Head coach Deion Sanders issued a warning only two years ago, “We comin’.” Two years later, the Buffaloes were a game away from the Big 12 Championship game in 2024 and have now secured several big-name recruits.

Sanders has pulled nearly 100 players from the portal over the past two years combined. If Hudson wants to take the mantle which was held by Travis Hunter at wide receiver, Colorado could be the place to go. One thing we know for sure is Colorado is a much bigger animal than Texas Tech. The Buffaloes are a national circus with millions of eyes on them weekly.
