Gilbert Perry senior Koa Peat will make his college basketball announcement on Thursday. The 18-year-old is rated among the top 10 in the 2025 class and has attracted the attention of many big programs.

Perry coach Sam Duane Jr. revealed that Peat won’t make the announcement from Perry, as he’s set to leave for the McDonald’s All-American Game. Instead, Peat, who averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds this season, will announce his decision on The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN. Duane also stated that he is uncertain if Peat will play in the All-American Game.

Koa Peat To Choose From 5 Programs

    Arizona Wildcats

Arizona is one of the top contenders for Peat’s services. Head coach Tommy Lloyd is an outspoken fan of the 18-year-old and has made no secret of this desire to bring him on board. Peat could be a great fit for the Wildcats’ fast-paced offense.

Arizona has been a consistent top-25 program and has made several appearances in the NCAA Tournament, which could make it an attractive option for Peat.

    Arizona State Sun Devils

Arizona State Sun Devils are another in-state option for Peat. The Bobby Hurley-led program has shown significant improvement in recent years and its up-tempo offense could suit Peat’s play style. Arizona State will face huge competition from its in-state rivals, Arizona, to land the 18-year-old.

    Baylor Bears

Baylor Bears are one of the most consistent programs in college basketball. They won the 2021 NCAA Championship and have been a consistent top-10 program. Baylor is widely known for its balanced offense and defensive-minded approach, and its reputation for developing top talent could also make it an attractive option for Peat.

    Houston Cougars

Kelvin Sampson has led the Houston Cougars to national prominence. The Cougars’ defensive style could be the perfect fit for Peat as he decides on his college destination. Houston has made multiple NCAA Tournament appearances in recent years and boasts a strong team culture.

    Texas Longhorns

Texas Longhorns have been one of the teams to beat in college basketball in the last few seasons. Head coach Rodney Terry has led them to multiple 20-win seasons.
