    Who Leads NBA Scoring List as James Harden Surpasses Carmelo Anthony in Top 10?

    Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden has garnered a milestone in his tenured career that speaks volumes about his ability to score the basketball. On Saturday, Dec. 6, Harden surpassed NBA legend Carmelo Anthony for 10th all time in the NBA’s all-time scoring list after his 19th point in coach Tyrone Lue’s Clippers’ three-point loss, 109-106, against coach Chris Finch’s Minnesota Timberwolves in away territory, the Target Center.

    Harden inserts his name into the likes of the top ten scorers, in terms of point totals in NBA history with his 28,303 points. Following “The Beard” at No. 9 is four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal, who has 28,596 markers, and then his former teammate in current Houston Rockets forward with 31,051 points. The current No. 7 and 6 in the list, respectively, are NBA Hall of Famers in Wilt Chamberlain and Dirk Nowitzki.

    The top five of the NBA all-time scoring list starts off with six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan, who has 32,292 points, and then five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant in fourth place with 33,643 markers. Legendary centers Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar follow suit in third and second, respectively, with 36,928 and 38,387 points. Current Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James tops the list with 42,268 points and counting.

    James Harden Spoke On The Prestige Of Making It Into The Top 10 Of The NBA All-Time Scoring List

    In the report written by ESPN reporter Ohm Youngmisuk published on ESPN, James Harden was asked about him making it into the top 10 all-time scoring list in the NBA that puts him close to some of the all-time greats of the league.

    For Harden, he is still in disbelief of the prestige he now holds, but he is just more than glad that the work he has put in is now paying dividends to himself.

    “You look at that list, it’s like there’s no way. There’s no way I got an opportunity to be a part of this list. It’s just literally like a dream come true. The work that I literally put in is coming to fruition. There’s so many things that this game has done for me, and I’m sure for all those guys as well. And those names are still being talked about post basketball,” Harden was quoted as saying.
