‘Yall Gotta Stop This Sh*t’: College Hoops Fans React As Cooper Flagg Gets Projected To Earn $1 Billion by the Time He Turns 32

Duke’s star Cooper Flagg is just a few hours away from being a No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft and going to the Dallas Mavericks to kick off his journey in the league.

Flagg is one of the most hyped-up prospects we’ve seen in recent years. Having spent just one year in college, fans and analysts couldn’t wait to see him shine in the league, even when he was in high school.

Flagg has an NIL value of $4.8M as an 18-year-old and is predicted to be the face of the NBA in the near future.

According to Spotrac, Flagg will sign a $62M rookie deal and is then projected to have a  30% Supermax which will give him $359M, followed by a then 35% Supermax that will pay him $509M for the 2037-2038 seasons. The post by Legion Hoops on X was read as:

Reacting to this, some fans shared their thoughts:

“Cooper Flagg’s future? Not just elite—legendary. > Projected to hit $1 BILLION by age 32. The league’s not ready for this level of dominance,” one fan wrote.

“He’s not going to get it from contracts, it’ll be from endorsements. Contracts are about to be structured differently or pay less don’t know which but they’re not gonna keep dropping super maxes left and right with that 2nd apron existence now,” another fan conspired.

“Well that depends also on if he stays a Mav for all that time. If he moves teams eventually via trade or FA then it will be a bit less. I predict the minute he is a FA & can go wherever he wants to be, he will flee to Boston, his hometown team, the team he is a super fan of,” a fan spoke about the possibility.

“Y’all hype him up way too much watch him become a bust,” another fan expressed his opinion.

“This is Just Assuming He Becomes A Superstar Before He’s Played A Single Game. Y’all Gotta Stop This S*it,” another fan expressed frustration.

“This is crazy pocket watching,” a fan added.

Ex NBA Star Compares Cooper Flagg to LeBron James

Cooper Flagg is already in the running to become the next face of NBA, and many also predict him to be one of the greatest the game has ever seen.

Ex-Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics player Brian Scalabrine recently expressed his thoughts on why he can see glimpses of LeBron James in Cooper Flagg. He said on the “Dan Patrick Show”:

“Cooper Flagg is not a bad athlete, he’s a great athlete. LeBron’s a super athlete. But they process the same. I know it’s unfair, but I’ll eventually be right… I’m just doing a comparison of what he can be… LeBron has scored 50,000 points and doesn’t have a go-to shot. I’m not sure [Flagg] has a go-to shot. Just a basketball player who makes things happen.”

The 2025 NBA Draft will begin today at 8 p.m. ET.
