Thompson led his team to a win over Chris Paul’s team. He currently holds offers from Bryant, Indiana DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Michigan, and Wake Forest. He’s receiving interest from Iowa State, Michigan State, Nebraska, UConn and Washington and has made visits to Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee unofficially.
“My recruitment has been going well so far,” Thompson told Phenom Hoops. “I’ve picked up recent offers from DePaul and Indiana while garnering interest from other schools.”
“They are both close to home and great schools with great programs,” Thompson continued about Indiana and DePaul. “What stands out with DePaul is the pace and tempo that they play with in practice and their coaching staff are great people.
“Indiana fans are crazy; the atmosphere is big-time, and facilities and the campus are nice. The coaching staff are also great human beings.”
Thompson averaged 19 points per game as a high school freshman, and that number increased to 24 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game in his sophomore year.
Thompson joined the 1,000-point club with a 23-point performance against Joliet Central, culminating in a 72-26 victory for his school. The magnitude of reaching such a mark this early in his career wasn’t lost on him. He scored 1000 points just 19 games into his sophomore year.
