Travis Hunter Sparks Media Frenzy at NFL Combine – Dual Role Debate Heats Up
Hunter and his Colorado Buffaloes companion, Shedeur Sanders, have both been the focus of media attention, but Hunter stole the spotlight this time around. The buzz around him was palpable, demonstrating why he’s considered one of the best prospects.
When Hunter addressed the assembled media in Indianapolis on Wednesday morning, the attendance was amazing. It seemed like a concert.

Hunter’s Commitment to Dual Roles
Hunter showcased exceptional offensive and defensive abilities throughout his collegiate career at Colorado. He has 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver, and 25 tackles and four interceptions as a cornerback.
When asked about his desired position in the NFL, Hunter was quick to reply.
“I’d like to play both sides of the ball,” the 21-year-old said. “If they allow me to play both sides of the ball, I’m going to play both sides.”
Interestingly, Hunter’s official NFL Combine offer classified him as a cornerback. This decision has triggered debate among analysts and scouts on his primary position in the NFL.
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said, “Starting him at cornerback provides a solid foundation, and we can explore offensive opportunities as he adapts to the league.”
Hunter is predicted to be one of the first players selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, which takes place April 24.
