Mark Ingram has a legendary college football resume. He committed to the University of Alabama as a 4-star running back in the class of 2008, where he went on to win a Heisman Trophy and National Championship in 2009.
However, before getting to Alabama, Ingram played his high school ball in Flint, Michigan, and had the chance to jab at former Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez for not recruiting him to play for the Wolverines.

Mark Ingram Pokes Fun at Rich Rodriguez for Lack of Recruitment
Mark Ingram is one of three hosts on the “Triple Option Podcast,” where they just had new West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez on as a guest.
Rodriguez took the Michigan job in 2008 after his first stint in West Virginia and was late to the recruiting cycle that year. Ingram joked with the legendary coach, saying, “You started recruiting me a week before signing day.”
In a hilarious response Rodriguez clapped back saying “I might still be the coach there if you said yes… I remembered watching your film and being like, what’s the problem, what are we waiting on.”
Missing out on the future Heisman winner was definitely a big loss for Rodriguez, who only lasted three seasons with the Wolverines. In 2009, Ingram ran for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns en route to a Heisman trophy and a championship ring, while Michigan went a lousy 5-7 that year.
Rodriguez is now starting his second stint with the West Virginia Mountaineers. He hopes to revive his career as a head coach, and bringing in recruits like Mark Ingram would be a good start.

The Mountaineers haven’t won 11 games since coach Rod was there last and I fully beleive in his ability to turn West Virginia into consistent Big-12 contenders and numerous college football playoff appearances.
Only time will tell how Rodriguez does at West Virginia, but it was nice to get this moment between a legendary player and a legendary coach.
