Jayden Daniels Flies Off the Draft Board, Followed by an Ambush of LSU Tigers in this 7-Round Mock Draft

The 2024 NFL Draft will be here shortly. Which schools will have the claim as the most proficient producers of NFL talent? LSU is certainly in that mix.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be here before we know it. As such, many college programs will be left with convincing arguments over how well they produce NFL-ready talent with some claiming themselves as a specific position’s top university.

While claims for “QBU” or “DBU” will continue to rage, one thing is certain around the 2024 NFL Draft: The LSU Tigers will be well represented yet again.

LSU Mock Draft: Jayden Daniels No. 3 Overall Pick

Using the latest 7-round 2024 NFL Mock Draft from our friends at Pro Football Network, the Tigers send seven total players across the 256 selections. It all starts with Jayden Daniels, landing at No. 3 with the New England Patriots.

Daniels, last season’s Heisman Trophy winner, lands as the third quarterback selected, all in a row. He heads to the Patriots behind Caleb Williams (No. 1) and Drake Maye (No. 2).

“Jayden Daniels has special creation capacity and all the explosive traits necessary to be a high draft pick,” the mock draft writes. “An evasive runner with a powerful arm, Daniels fits the mold of an early-round QB.”

Behind Daniels, LSU fans didn’t have to wait long to see the next Tiger off the board.

In fact, it was Daniels’ preferred target in Malik Nabers who also landed within the top 10 picks of the seven-round mock draft. Nabers heads a bit east, landing with the Atlanta Falcons to pair a potentially dynamic duo with Drake London in the NFC South.

“Outside of Drake London, the Falcons have nothing to write home about at receiver,” the mock draft stated. “Adding Malik Nabers would make this offense even more explosive and one of the most exciting to watch in the NFL.”

Joining Nabers and Daniels in the first round was none other than Brian Thomas Jr. The “other” wide receiver from LSU’s offense this past season headed to the Buffalo Bills with the 28th overall selection.

“Brian Thomas Jr. has been overshadowed by his LSU running partner, but he is a first-round talent,” the mock draft pointed out/ “At 6’4” and 205 pounds, he boasts an impressive frame. But his explosive speed is what sets him apart.”

With the top three Tigers from their recent offense off the board in the first round, the first defensive player from LSU taken is Mekhi Wingo, who lands at 75th overall to the Chicago Bears. Fellow defensive tackles Maason Smith and Jordan Jefferson fell in line after Wingo.

Smith was mocked to the Washington Commanders at 102 overall while Jefferson landed with the Los Angeles Chargers at 138th.

Rounding out the seven Tigers selected, Oregon State transfer LB Omar Speights heads west to join the Arizona Cardinals with the 160th pick.

Here’s every LSU player picked in this recent mock draft:

    3) Jayden Daniels, QB (New England Patriots)

    8) Malik Nabers, WR (Atlanta Falcons)

    28) Brian Thomas Jr., WR (Buffalo Bills)

    75) Mekhi Wingo, DT (Chicago Bears)

    102) Maason Smith, DT (Washington Commanders)

    138) Jordan Jefferson, DT (Los Angeles Chargers)

    160) Omar Speights, LB (Arizona Cardinals)
