‘Does His Best’ – LaJohntay Wester’s Parents Stand Tall at Colorado Pro Day with Emotional Shoutout

LaJohntay Wester spent just one season with the Colorado Buffaloes but had plenty to prove at the team’s 2025 Pro Day. With his parents by his side, the wide receiver delivered exactly what scouts were looking for, boosting his stock ahead of the April NFL Draft.

LaJohntay Wester’s Parents Show Support at Colorado Pro Day

Colorado’s 2024 senior class took the field in Boulder one last time during CU’s Pro Day.

Headlined by stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, the event drew scouts from all 32 NFL teams. But it was also a pivotal moment for 14 other Buffaloes hopefuls—including Wester—each vying for a shot at the next level.

Among those in attendance were Wester’s parents, John and Laquita Wester.

In a video chronicling LaJohntay’s journey from Colorado standout to NFL prospect, his brother, linebacker Jaylen Wester, interviewed their parents about their expectations for the day.

“I feel like he’s going to do like he always does—his best,” Laquita Wester said. “He’s him on and off the field. This ain’t new to him; it’s in him and ain’t on him.”

Wester delivered a solid Pro Day performance, though not quite as sharp as expected. Measuring 5 feet 11 and weighing 167 pounds, he ran a 4.50-second 40-yard dash—slightly slower than his 4.46-second time at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

Still, his production speaks volumes. In his lone season at Colorado, the former Florida Atlantic transfer finished second on the team with 74 receptions, 931 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. He and Hunter became the first receiver duo in program history to each notch 10 touchdown receptions in a single season.

Despite his strong showing, Wester is currently projected as a late-round pick or an undrafted free agent.
