The Georgia Bulldogs are always planning ahead, and their latest recruiting move has further proved it.
Last week, head coach Kirby Smart and his staff extended a scholarship offer to Teddy Jarrard, a standout three-star QB prospect from the class of 2027. How could this offer change the landscape of the SEC?

Georgia Football Offers Scholarship to QB Teddy Jarrard
Teddy Jarrard is not the regular, average high school QB. At 6’3” and 195 pounds, he’s got the size coaches drool over, of course, his stats back up the hype. During his sophomore year at North Cobb Christian High School (GA), he dominated the games, significantly impacting the scoreboard with 2,647 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.
When Georgia called with a scholarship offer, Jarrard didn’t hide his excitement.
“It meant a lot to me,” he said in a recent interview with On3. “I’ve always dreamed of playing for a program like Georgia, and to have them show interest in me this early is incredible.” The Bulldogs made it personal, too, inviting him to Athens to deliver the offer face-to-face.
New QB target Teddy Jarrard has connections to Georgia and the 2027 4-star out of North Cobb (Ga.) left Athens with an offer today.
“They wanted to offer me in person and it meant a lot,” Jarrard told On3.

That kind of gesture sticks with a recruit, and it’s clear Georgia sees Jarrard as more than just another name on a list. For a kid from Kennesaw, just an hour from UGA’s campus, the chance to stay home and play for a powerhouse is a big deal.
Jarrard’s skill set fits what Georgia is looking for in a quarterback. He possesses an exceptionally powerful throwing arm and can move when the pocket breaks down. His dual-threat ability thrilled scouts, which is why he is already rated as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class.
On the flip side, they’ve already locked up Jared Curtis, a five-star QB in the 2026 class, so targeting Jarrard early keeps their quarterback room stacked with talent.
Smart knows the value of a strong pipeline at the position; it’s how the program can stay ahead in the SEC. Getting in on Jarrard now gives Georgia a head start in building a relationship with him, which could pay off big when he’s ready to commit.

Under Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs have been a college football juggernaut, with a track record of developing talent and winning big. Since Smart took over in 2016, Georgia has claimed two national championships and produced NFL draft picks.
For a young QB dreaming of the pros, that’s the kind of program that gets one’s attention.
