Kalen DeBoer Shares Injury Update on Alabama Star WR Ryan Williams

Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams is coming off a freshman season where he had 865 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Heading into the 2025 season, he is expected to be even better; however, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer, he suffered an injury at the end of spring ball.

Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Provides Latest on Ryan Williams’ Injury Status

On “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning,” a Birmingham radio show, Deboer assured fans that Williams’ injury is nothing to worry about, saying, “Unfortunately, at the end of spring ball, he suffered a little bit of a ding. He’ll be fine. He’ll be ready to roll here this summer.”

It appears that Williams is fine, and DeBoer went on to say that this is common with young players whose bodies aren’t quite mature yet, adding, “He’s just younger. The body maturing, and then him putting the work in — just being stronger, more durable, those types of things.”

Williams will be instrumental for Alabama’s success next season as he is the clear-cut X receiver in that offense.

With Jalen Milroe gone to the NFL, the Tide will have a new quarterback throwing to Williams, so the young wideout’s health will be essential to his ability to build chemistry with the quarterbacks over the summer and spring.

If Williams can stay healthy throughout the season next year, there is no doubt that he will be one of, if not the best, pass catchers in the entire country and compete for some major awards.
