Jalen Milroe Dominates Kentucky and Makes Alabama History While Doing So

Ever since their early-season loss against the Texas Longhorns, the Crimson Tide have been on an unrelenting win streak.

They just won their eighth game in a row, and they can owe much of their recent success to newfound stability at quarterback.

Milroe was the Tide’s starter to begin the season but was benched after the Texas loss in favor of Tyler Buechner. It wasn’t long before Milroe re-entered the starting lineup, however, and he’s since made Nick Saban regret benching him in the first place.

Leading into Week 11, Milroe had completed 114 of 176 passes (64.8%) for 1,836 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions while adding 297 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. He was electric in a four-touchdown outing against LSU, and he carried on his hot streak against Kentucky on Saturday.

The Wildcats had no answer for Milroe, who even fought through injury at times to deliver an immaculate outing. He ended the day with 240 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick through the air, and he also had 36 yards and three additional touchdowns on eight carries.

Not only did Milroe lead the Crimson Tide to another win, positioning them for another potential SEC Championship appearance, but he also made history.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Milroe became the first Alabama QB ever to rush and pass for three touchdowns apiece in a single game.

It was one of Milroe’s most impressive outings yet, but it’s only a continuation of what he’s shown since returning to the starting lineup for Alabama.

Milroe was once viewed as replaceable, but he’s now made an irreplaceable impact on the Alabama offense with his dual-threat ability, playmaking prowess, and infectious energy.

Those qualities have already helped him rewrite the record books, and there could be more success and recognition on the way in the weeks to come.
