    Jake Ferguson Shares Solemn Message After Teammate Marshawn Kneeland’s Tragic Death

    The Dallas Cowboys fans were faced with unfortunate news on Thursday when it was announced that their defensive end Marshawn Kneeland had died at the age of 24.

    Kneeland, who secured his first career TD on Monday night against the Cardinals, played in seven games for the Cowboys in 2025 and had 12 tackles while making one sack.

    The Cowboys DE was picked as the 56th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft after his five-year college career at Western Michigan University, where he secured 148 tackles, 27.5 TFL and 13 sacks.

    Reacting to the tragic news, Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson took to Instagram to share his reaction and wrote: “Love you brother.”

    The second-round draft pick from 2024 was playing in his second season with the Cowboys after playing for Western Michigan University.

    The Cowboys released a statement sharing the news of Kneeland’s death, paying their respect to his teammates, family and his girlfriend Catalina.

    “It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.” the Cowboys said in a statement.

    Cowboys Defensive End Marshawn Kneeland’s Cause Of Death

    A Cowboys insider, Nick Harris, shared an official statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety about Kneeland’s death and revealed that it was a self-inflicted suicide, as they found a gunshot wound on his body.

    Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, also posted a heartfelt statement on the news and shared how the Cowboys DE poured his heart into every snap and practice.

    “Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field. To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words. My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and everyone who loved him, and I hope they feel the support of the entire football community during this unimaginable time. I ask that you please give his loved ones the privacy and compassion they need as they grieve this tremendous loss.”

    Perzley further urged fans to give privacy and compassion to Kneeland’s family as they go through the grief caused by the tremendous loss.
