Former Heisman winner and NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III is reportedly close to starting a new job. According to On3 (via insider Andrew Marchand), Griffin is expected to become the No. 2 college football analyst at Fox Sports.

RGIII Expected to Join FOX After ESPN Ouster
The Baylor legend will be going back to the booth after being relieved of his duties by ESPN last fall. If you are a college football fan, this is a win for you.
Seeing Griffin return to the booth is huge for the sport of college football because he is one of the game’s true legends. While at Baylor (2008-2011), he was one of the premier stars in the country.
He accounted for 111 total touchdowns and just 17 total interceptions during his time playing under center for the Bears. If he had the ball in his hands, the defense was in trouble more often than not.
That led to him becoming an All-American, winning that aforementioned Heisman, and going on to be the Rookie of the Year in the NFL.
If it wasn’t for injuries, who knows where his career may have gone in the end?
Who Will Robert Griffin III Be Paired With?
With Griffin heading back into the booth, it has to now be determined which play-by-play commentator will be working with him.
It cannot be top man Gus Johnson, who has formed a fantastic duo with No. 1 college football analyst Joel Klatt over the years.
Could he perhaps have a chance to work with play-by-play men such as Jason Benetti or Kevin Kugler? Tim Brando and Connor Onion could be potential options, too.
While Griffin was at ESPN, he worked plenty of games with longtime ESPN play-by-play commentator Mark Jones.

In addition to calling college football games for ESPN, he contributed to shows such as Get Up!, NFL Live, College Football Live, and Monday Night Countdown.
This news is certainly significant due to the 35-year-old’s pedigree and status within the sport. Time will tell if he can make it work at his new network and with his new teammates in the studio and/or in the booth.
