Is Arch Manning Playing Today for Injured Quinn Ewers? Explaining Latest Texas Depth Chart for Texas A&M Game

Quinn Ewers tweaked his ankle a week ago, and the Texas Depth Chart lists Manning as next up if Ewers cannot go, or is somewhat ineffective.

The Texas Longhorns are facing a must-win game to make the SEC Championship Game. In front of them stands longtime rival Texas A&M Aggies and a banged-up quarterback situation.

Just how bad is Quinn Ewers’ hurt, what does their latest QB depth chart look like, and will Arch Manning see the field vs. the Aggies?

    Is Arch Manning Playing Today?

The first question that need be answered is whether or not fans will see Manning in action in Week 14. As of just a handful of hours ahead of kick, the answer is no. At least not in the starting lineup.

It appears that Ewers will still be given the start despite an injured ankle he sustained in Week 13.

However, Manning could very well see the field if Ewers re-injures his ankle, or according to reports, if Ewers is ineffective with his bum ankle.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian will likely have a short leash on Ewers against A&M, and that should be for two reasons. The first is simple: Texas needs to win against A&M to make the SEC Championship Game. The second is a bit more complex: If Ewers injures himself further against A&M, their College Football Playoff chances take a hit if he’s not healthy for their postseason run.

Sark will likely have to weigh his options if Ewers can’t continue, but with how Manning did play in relief of Ewers earlier this season, there is hope Manning could lead the Longhorns to victory.

    Latest Texas Depth Chart

Listed below is the two-deep depth chart for the Longhorns. Clearly, Manning is QB2, but Ewers will get the start as stated above. He’ll see action if Ewers cannot continue or gets re-injured on his ‘tweaked ankle.’
