Insider Calls Out Flaws in EA Sports College Football 26 Despite Major Leaps – ‘I Still Don’t Love the State It’s In’

College Football 26 has finally been released and fans are excited to finally sit down and play this latest game from EA Sports. The question now is, is the game worth getting?

Renowned college football streamer Bordeaux appeared on the “Crain & Company” podcast and revealed his thoughts on this new game. There, he admitted that EA Sports made significant leaps forward, but also pointed out that the game still had a lot of bugs at launch, as well as several things that the developers still need to patch up.

Bordeaux was then asked what grade would he give the game, and the streamer gave his honest answer:

“So, I think last year I gave College Football 25 a seven, and obviously, I believe this game is taking enough steps forward where I’m satisfied with it,” he said. I still don’t love the state that it’s in right now. The state that it’s in with all the bugs and it not being polished out, I’m giving it another seven.”

“Even with all the steps it took forward, but once they throw up a couple title updates two, three months from now, I think I’m going to look back and be like an 8, 8.5,” he added.

The streamer did point out that patches to fix these bugs after launch are expected, but believes EA Sports shouldn’t launch the game with so many flaws.

Pundits Praise EA Sports College Football 26 Upon Release

Despite its many flaws, EA Sports College Football 26 is still getting a lot of praise from gamers and reviewers, with many, including USA Today, calling it an “upgrade” from last year’s game, while others did not mind the bugs that much.

Some praised the various modes, while others were happy with the various overhauls that EA implemented into the game.

“The game presentation and graphics got massively upgraded, giving the big game feel to those high-stake matchups. The commentary feels more sequenced and the conversations discussed about the teams, the last game and season performance help it not feel so robotic,” wrote USA Today’s Jordan Mendoza.

Meanwhile, Games Radar’s Ben Wilson was all praises for the game’s rivalries and the Dynasty Mode. Unlike Bordeaux, he found the bugs and other problems to be a bit minor, though he did find some of the things about the game to be weird.

“One of the reasons for its best-in-class performance is that while Ultimate Team is here, and sound, other modes – and those rivalries! – are given the space to outshine it. Long may that continue. The flaws are minor, and curious.

“Thanks to rivalries and dynasty, this is once again the greatest show on turf.”

The game is now available for physical and digital download for the PlayStation 5 and the XBox Series S/X. Newly-added features include adding each of the teams’ actual coaches, various overhauls, including subbing and quarterbacks, and more.
