The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will take on the Delaware State Hornets on Aug. 24 at midnight ET on Spectrum Sports. The Hornets, who struggled to a 1-10 record last season, are looking to achieve their first winning season since 2012 when they finished 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Rainbow Warriors, who ended last year with a 5-8 record and went 3-5 in the Mountain West Conference, aim for their first winning season since 2020, when they went 5-4 during the COVID-19 shortened season and earned a bowl appearance. The matchup will be at the Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hawaii’s offense ranked 90th in the FBS last season, averaging 351.4 yards per game, while their defense ranked 75th, allowing 385.3 yards per contest. Delaware State, on the other hand, struggled on both sides of the ball, finishing with the 107th-ranked scoring offense, averaging just 18.0 points per game, and a defense that ranked among the worst in the nation, allowing 37.7 points per game, the 13th-worst in the FBS.
