The Colorado Buffaloes 2024 college football season continues apace as they travel cross-country to Orlando to take on the UCF Knights. The two teams have never met, but with both holding Big 12 title aspirations and explosive offensives, it’s one not to miss.

UCF enters the game riding an undefeated streak in 2024. After opening up with a comfortable win over New Hampshire, the free-scoring Knights have knocked off Sam Houston and TCU. Gus Malzahn’s team showcased resilience last time out, overcoming an 18-point third-quarter deficit against the Horned Frogs to emerge with their third victory of the season.
Colorado endured their own nail-biting finish in Week 4. Deion Sanders’ team never held a regulation-time lead against the Baylor Bears in Folsom Field. However, some Shedeur Sanders magic on a Hail Mary lob to LaJohntay Wester with time expiring took the game into overtime. The Buffaloes struck when it mattered, taking their first Big 12 win of the year.

Despite coming into the game with a 3-1 record and riding high on a two-game win streak, Colorado is a significant underdog in this game. The Buffaloes rank 83rd in the country for run defense, and UCF has the number five rushing offense in the country. Ahead of the game, CFN’s Football Playoff Meter gives Sanders’ team just a 0.1% chance of winning out.
Calling the game for Colorado on the radio this weekend will be Mark Johnson, a long-standing component of the Buffaloes broadcast team. He’s joined by Color Analyst Gary Barnett, who put together a 49-38 record as the head coach, including the Buffaloes run to the 2001 Big 12 Championship.
