The Colorado Buffaloes 2024 college football season continues apace with their Big 12 opener against the Baylor Bears at Folsom Field. The two teams haven’t met since 2010, but after an awkward uniform misunderstanding on social media, there is certain to be a little needle on the field.

Baylor heads into this Week 4 Big 12 showdown having won the previous encounter between the two teams in 2010. That win came in Boulder, and historically, the Bears have had some success on the road against Colorado. Over half of the seven wins have been at Folsom Field. However, the Buffaloes hold a 9-7 head-to-head all-time advantage.
After narrowly beating FCS powerhouse North Dakota State in Week 1 and being humbled by Nebraska in Week 2, Deion Sanders’ Colorado team got their season on track with a comfortable win in the Rocky Mountain Showdown last time out, advancing to 2-1 on the season. However, they’ll be without several key players for this encounter with Baylor.

Meanwhile, Baylor couldn’t overcome a Cam Rising-less Utah Utes team that didn’t score a single point in the second half of their Week 2 matchup. On either side of that, the Bears have put up 30+ points in wins over Tarleton State and Air Force while only giving up three points in each matchup.
Calling the game for Colorado on the radio this weekend will be Mark Johnson, a long-standing component of the Buffaloes broadcast team. He’s joined by Color Analyst Gary Barnett, who put together a 49-38 record as the head coach, including the Buffaloes run to the 2001 Big 12 Championship.
