Typically, Colorado Buffaloes and Nebraska Cornhuskers fans don’t need any extra incentive to get up for the rivalry game between two former Big 8 foes, but both teams have high hopes for 2024 and that makes fans feel like a bit extra is riding on this game.
Deion Sanders opened his second season as the Buffaloes head coach by leading them to a 31-26 win over the North Dakota State Bison in Week 1, but Nebraska could provide stiffer competition. The offensive line, which struggled last season, looked greatly improved in Week 1, but the defense still struggled some.
That being said, Sanders and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, should have Colorado ready to go in what could be one of the best games of the Week 2 slate.

Colorado prides itself on its high-powered offense, while Nebraska has typically relied on its stingy defense. This year, however, Nebraska feels that it has an offense that can put up points.
While the Cornhuskers wouldn’t prefer a shootout, quarterback Dylan Raiola has the talent and downfield passing ability to help Nebraska if the game trended in that direction.
Colorado’s offense is built to put up a ton of points, with Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter being considered two of the best players in the country and potential first-round draft picks.
Colorado will need to find a better balance than last week on offense in order to protect its defense. If the Buffaloes can run the ball, they’ll have a chance.
Colorado and Nebraska renew their rivalry at 7:30 p.m. ET on Peacock or NBC.
