The No. 7 Oregon Ducks will look for their first-ever win against the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night. The Broncos are currently the only team the Ducks have never defeated despite three attempts to do so.
Boise State was also the opponent for Oregon’s most recent non-conference loss at Autzen Stadium, which took place in 2008. Oregon has rattled off 33 consecutive home wins against non-league foes since then, the longest active win streak of its kind in the FBS.

Saturday will mark only the third time Boise State has faced a Big Ten opponent. The Broncos lost each of the previous two on the road and by four-point margins: 17-13 vs. Michigan State in 2012 and 28-24 vs. Wisconsin in 1997.
The Broncos enter this contest at 1-0 after winning their season opener at Georgia Southern, 56-45. While the high-scoring affair created plenty of excitement, head coach Spencer Danielson remains focused on the challenges ahead, particularly with the Broncos back on the road and up against an AP top-10 team this week.
“My message to our team is all about how we grow from Week 1 to Week 2. We know the opponent that we’re playing. They’re going to be one of the most talented teams we’ve faced in a while. We understand it’s going to be a tall task,” Danielson told reporters this week. “I believe we (have to be) willing to work in the dark, so when the lights are on, on Saturday, we’re ready.”
Boise State should be in a good position to pull off the upset if they get anywhere close to the performance they got last week from running back Ashton Jeanty. He set single-game school records for both rushing yards (267) and rushing touchdowns (six) against Georgia Southern, with 161 of those rushing yards coming after contact.
It will be the second straight week Oregon is facing a Gem State-based team as the Ducks knocked off the Idaho Vandals, 24-14, in their season opener. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel made a splash in his Oregon debut by completing 41 of 49 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns.
The win improved Oregon coach Dan Lanning’s home record to 13-1 during his time in Eugene, Ore. Lanning had just started coaching high school football in Missouri when Boise State defeated Oregon at Autzen Stadium in 2008.
