The 2024 Heisman race was an exciting one. Colorado Buffaloes WR/CB Travis Hunter was the clear favorite to win the award but many fans have argued that Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is the more deserving player. Despite media debates and Twitter wars on the matter, the Heisman finalists seemed like a group of old friends as they posed for a picture with the Heisman Trophy before the ceremony.
Quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel from Oregon and Miami’s Cam Ward were all smiles as they posed with favorite Hunter and the “people’s favorite” Jeanty.
Fans React as Travis Hunter Wins the 2024 Heisman Trophy
Hunter is the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and no one is surprised. The Colorado CB/WR has been dominant on both defense and offense and has the stats to back it up.
However, seeing the quartet’s reaction to the award itself ahead of the ceremony was something special.

Hunter had 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns in the 2024 season. On defense, Hunter had four interceptions and broke up 11 passes. He played 672 snaps on offense and 688 defensive snaps, making him the only FBS player with over 150 snaps on both sides of the ball.
Fans were quick to react to the news, with many congratulating Hunter — and others who were not so pleased.

Safe to say the debate raged on.
What Does Travis Hunter’s Future in the NFL Look Like?
Hunter is one of the most sought-after college football players currently, and his Heisman win has skyrocketed his value. Hunter’s status as two-way star is well-deserved. He is now the only player to win both the Bednarik Award and the Biletnikoff Award, the former being for the top defensive player and the latter for the top receiver in the nation.
With the Heisman Trophy to top it off, Hunter’s NFL potential is the next big question. The latest CFN Mock Draft had Hunter going No. 1 overall.
Many fans and analysts argue that Hunter’s two-way status, though useful in college football, will not work in the NFL. Instead, they believe he should focus on just one side of the ball.
Hunter has repeatedly expressed his intention of continuing to play both sides of the ball when he moves to the NFL.
