‘Going To Be a Nightmare’ — Fans Brace for Disaster at 2027 NFL Draft As Crowd Projections Top 1 Million

After the success that the NFL had putting the NFL Draft in Green Bay last month and with fans likely to show up in full force in Pittsburgh next year, the 2027 NFL Draft in Washington, D.C. could follow suit.

However, some fans are bracing for it to be chaotic.

NFL Draft 2027 Venue Draws Backlash Over Expected Chaos

While it is exciting to see the NFL Draft head to the nation’s capital, some fans are bracing for plenty of chaos. This is the case because the National Mall could be the site for the draft. When no major sporting event is taking place, thousands of people walk around the National Mall daily at minimum.

Now, the NFL is going to be bringing in hundreds of thousands of fans to the site. That could cause a lot of confusion, traffic jams, and a whole lot of overcrowding.

Even if it is not the National Mall that is hosting the draft specifically, the city is filled with people who are there to do more than watch players get their names called. It will be interesting to see how the league and the city collaborate to ensure the event’s success.

The Rise of the Washington Commanders

Due to the success of the Commanders last season, it does make sense as to why the city has earned the right to host the draft.

Head coach Dan Quinn was able to guide the team to its first NFC Championship Game this century. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels took the league by storm, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Whenever you get to see your city host the NFL Draft, it is a very neat thing. But it is all the more special when your team is on the rise.

The Commanders appear to be one of the contenders in the NFC, and they just traded for Pro Bowl wide receiver Deebo Samuel this offseason to go alongside Terry McLaurin.

If you are a Commanders fan, you have the right to be excited about what is happening.
