The LSU Tigers are set up for an important season on the gridiron, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun off of it.
Head coach Brian Kelly and starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier were among the crop of LSU personnel in attendance for Louisiana Saturday Night.

Nussmeier, along with star gymnast Kailin Chio, were the highlight of the benefit on Saturday night.

During the evening’s entertainment, Nussmeier and Chio helped illustrate the state’s rich athletic history. They also helped show off the importance of name, image, and likeness to those in attendance.
A lot of schools around the country will help host these kinds of events as a way to honor the region around them.
For a place like Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana, athletics is a very integral part of the fabric of the region.
Nussmeier Looking to Explode as a Senior
Nussmeier will be looking to guide the Tigers to the College Football Playoff and beyond in his final season as the team’s starter.
In his first full season as the team’s starter last year, he threw for over 4,000 yards and recorded 32 total touchdowns.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, they were only able to win nine games, which isn’t exactly what Brian Kelly was brought there to do. In the three years with Kelly at the helm, the team has had three losses or more each year. In a conference without Nick Saban to torment the rest of the teams, now is as good a time as any to go win it all.
Kelly has the right quarterback in Nussmeier, but they have to find a way to put it all together. This season, the Tigers are set to face off against the likes of Clemson, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Alabama, and Oklahoma. If this team wants to reach the SEC Championship or even the College Football Playoff, it has to win at least 10 games.
