Which FBS Schools Had the Highest Enrollments Last Season?

Every year, numbers are released on which schools were able to enroll the most students. While one would think schools with high enrollments have competitive football teams, that’s not always the case.

Which FBS Schools Welcomed the Most Students in 2024?

Here are the top five FBS schools, in terms of total enrollment, in the country (via Best Colleges).

    1. Arizona State: 80,065

After the season that head coach Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils just had, perhaps even more students will flock to Tempe.

While the Valley of the Sun is one of the prettiest places in the country, the College Football Playoff is a pretty attractive place for college football teams, too. That’s where the Sun Devils were a season ago.

    2. Texas A&M: 74,014

While the Aggies finished with a record of just 8-5 in 2024, they still managed to attract plenty of fans. They always do, as evidenced by how many fans file into Kyle Field each year.

Now, it is time for the team to deliver on its promise to fans of bringing a national title to College Station.

    3. UCF: 68,346

While the university likely attracted plenty of students because of its academics and location in Orlando, Florida, having a good football team doesn’t hurt.

Last season, the Knights went just 4-8 last season and fired head coach Gus Malzahn. However, they re-hired Scott Frost, hoping to turn the ship around.

    4. Ohio State: 60,540

That makes 60,540 screaming Buckeyes fans as their college football team took home the national title.

Head coach Ryan Day finally broke through the wall and got his ring thanks to the plays made by quarterback Will Howard and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. It will be interesting to see if the team can repeat the same sort of magic in 2025.

    5. Illinois: 56,916

The Fighting Illini have a right to be proud of their student population and the product on the football field. Head coach Bret Bielema went from 5-7 in his first season in 2021 to 10-3 in 2024.
