The early release of EA Sports College Football 25 dropped Monday, giving fans their first look at the full player ratings. One of the more intriguing groups of players is the true freshmen, the guys who haven’t played a college snap yet. And unsurprisingly, the Georgia Bulldogs lead the way with three of the game’s top 12 highest-rated freshmen.
Ellis Robinson IV Leads Way As Georgia Boasts 3 of Top 12 Freshmen in EA Sports College Football 25
It shouldn’t be surprising that the Bulldogs have so many highly-rated freshmen, given that the Bulldogs finished the cycle with the top recruiting class in 2024, per On3’s Industry Composite Rankings.
The Bulldogs finished the class with five five-star recruits, all defenders, including three given five stars by all four major recruiting services. Leading the way on both the recruiting rankings and EA Sports College Football 25 rankings is corner Ellis Robinson IV, the No. 2 overall recruit in the country, who gets an 83 overall rating by the game.
Linebacker Justin Williams comes in at 11th on the game, with an overall rating of 80 after finishing the 2024 cycle ranked sixth in the country.
Similarly, safety KJ Bolden is the highest-rated freshman safety in the game, coming in ranked 80 overall, good for 12th in the game. He was a late flip to Georgia in the recruiting process, ending the cycle as the top-ranked safety, 14th overall in the country.
Of course, development will be key for these players both in the game and on the field in real life as gamers will expect their star freshmen to progress and the coaches will expect to count on them more heavily as the season and their careers progress.
The Bulldogs have seven other true freshmen in the top 75, led by linebacker Chris Cole at 78 overall, good for 28th in the country.
College Football Network has ratings for every true freshman in the game above a 70 overall and will continue to have content on EA Sports College Football 25 throughout the year.
