It has been a wild few months in Deion Sanders’ household, with an offseason full of rollercoasters. Coach Prime has been juggling more than just coaching duties; he kept his dad hat on tight throughout the 2025 NFL Draft process.
However, now that the hullabaloo is behind him, Sanders finally has a moment to breathe. For someone like him, his downtime simply means a new arena to conquer.

Deion Sanders Vows Tennis Comeback Despite Pain; Says He’ll Be “Prime Blackenroe” in 6 Months
On Sunday, May 18, Colorado HC Deion Sanders took to Instagram to surprise the world. His latest post showed him decked out in tennis gear with his racquet in hand. However, it wasn’t just a vibe post. The Colorado Buffaloes’ headman had a motive, a timeline, and a challenge to deliver to none other than actor Leon Robinson.

“I got a new Hobby because I’ve got to have something that I can personally compete in,” Sanders wrote. “Give me 6 months and I’m gonna be PRIME BLACKENROE!” he added, fusing his iconic nickname with that of tennis legend John McEnroe.
He added, “My goal is to be able to compete against my dear friend and 1 of the Best Actors in the game… Leon. That … can PLAY PLAY!”
The actor, known for his performances in The Five Heartbeats, Cool Runnings, and The Temptations, has been more than just a Hollywood name in Deion Sanders’ circle. Robinson has been a friend, supporter, and confidant. And apparently, a beast on the tennis court.
Just last month, after his son Shedeur’s draft saga came to a satisfying end in Cleveland, Leon was one of the first people to send out love.
He posted a photo of himself with Shedeur and wrote, “CONGRATS! @shedeursanders on being #drafted by the @clevelandbrowns… Shoutout to your father and my #friend @deionsanders for getting you ready.”
Now, Prime is returning that energy in the most “Deion Sanders way” possible — with a challenge. So what happens when Coach Prime brings his footwork to the court and sets his sights on a tennis showdown?

Well, that remains to be seen. But Robinson better start warming up, because this won’t be like any other friendly match. And if his track record says anything, “Prime Blackenroe” might just be serving aces in six months flat.
