Colorado Coach Deion Sanders Shares Powerful Four-Word Reaction to Ray Lewis’ Faith-Filled Advice

Hall-of-Famers Deion Sanders and Ray Lewis forged a strong bond long before social media shout-outs and viral videos. In 2004, Sanders surprised fans by coming out of a three-year retirement, not to chase stats or a contract, but because of a call from a friend. That friend? Lewis, the passionate heartbeat of the Baltimore Ravens defense.

Just recently, Sanders jumped into the comments of a Lewis Instagram reel, proving that their brotherhood is still alive.

The post was a throwback to one of the biggest moments of his life, his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction on Aug. 5, 2018. That night, Lewis captivated the crowd with his signature roar before launching a passionate 33-minute speech. He shared powerful stories from his time in the NFL, focusing on how his team rose above adversity repeatedly.

Fans flooded the comments, moved by both the message and the memories. And right on cue, former teammate and longtime friend, Sanders commented with four powerful words:

    “You preaching my brother.”

Inspired by Lewis’ passion and leadership, in 2004, Sanders returned to the field after a three-year retirement to join Baltimore’s defense. The two Hall of Famers shared the field for two seasons (2004–2005). However, the Ravens underperformed in 2005, ending the season 6–10 and missing the playoffs.

After that stint, Sanders hung up his cleats for good and shifted to coaching. He is the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. Lewis, meanwhile, moved into the media world, a path many former players take. But the legend didn’t stop there; he authored “I Feel Like Going On,” a deeply personal memoir and a New York Times bestseller.
