Deion Sanders Calls Out Asante Samuel’s ‘Patriot Way’ Silence in Friendly Interview

There are many things you can highlight from the life of Deion Sanders. It’s never boring and it’s never lacking drama, especially after Shedeur Sanders’ unexpected NFL Draft slide. However, there’s another story involving Coach Prime that gained massive attention earlier this year that has found its way back into the headlines.

It was a feud between Deion and Asante Samuel. It all started when Samuel criticized Sanders’ remarks about the “T-Step” technique used by cornerbacks, with the two-time Super Bowl champion saying he was ready to debate Sanders on any show.

Deion Sanders Calls Out Asante Samuel Again for Defending ‘Patriot Way’

Just when football fans thought the feud between Sanders and Samuel had faded, it suddenly took a new turn. On May 30, “Well Off Media” dropped a new video on YouTube. It featured Coach Prime sitting down with Samuel for a surprisingly cordial interview on the “Say What Needs to Be Said” show.

At first, the conversational vibe didn’t match the fiery fighting words from their previous feud. They chatted for more than an hour, keeping the comments mostly relaxed and friendly, which shocked fans who remembered their “foolishness” on social media

The Colorado head coach kicked off the chat by quoting a line from Snoop Dogg’s hit song “Doggy Dogg World” by saying: “I just feel like a Snoop song. Some of these fools are so deceptive, using my style as contraceptive.”

Sanders and Samuel made it clear from the jump that this meetup wasn’t planned. It happened naturally. Deion then explained why he wanted to have this talk. He said he simply wanted to show support for Samuel, whom he still calls “youngster.”

“I reached out to my youngster,” Sanders said. “I called him youngster because he’s still young compared to me. I want him to win at every facet.”

Coach Prime also shared his frustration with Samuel’s code of silence during his time with the New England Patriots. He added, “We’ve always heard you, you know, you’ve said a little something on the field, but we never heard you say something. I think that was the ‘Patriot Way.’ So, when you retire and you start talking, we like, what’s wrong with you, man? Who is you?”

If you expected this meeting to spark a new argument, you’d be wrong. Instead, Sanders and Samuel playfully enjoyed the entire discussion, sharing plenty of laughs and respect from start to finish. You could say that their beef has been squashed.
