David Pollack Banks On Patriots-Style Plan for Bill Belichick Amid ‘Uncomfortable’ Media Circus

With North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick in the limelight all week, rumors have swirled around the former New England Patriots coach, with speculation about his relationship rampant and some suggesting he may never coach a single game for the Tar Heels.

The 73-year-old Belichick has received plenty of attention for his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, who reportedly manages the coach’s personal brand. The attention peaked after a “CBS This Morning” interview, in which Hudson interrupted the interview several times, rejecting several questions from being asked.

David Pollack Says Belichick’s Public Image Is Being Undone by Girlfriend Drama

And while there’s been a plethora of opinions on the relationship, Georgia legend and College Football Hall of Fame linebacker David Pollack decided to voice his thoughts on the matter.

“I don’t think he lost the ability to coach football. Now, this girlfriend thing is getting a little bit out of control,” Pollack said. “It’s so weird to see him do media now. And I know he did media last year when he was sitting out, but it’s still uncomfortable. It’s still uncomfortable to watch. I hope these kids can relate to him, but he’s gonna have to do what he did in New England for a number of years.

“He did it with less. He didn’t have a bunch of a bunch of superstars. Now, he had superstars early in his career, but once he got a little bit older, he was doing more with less because the roster wasn’t that good. He was building it too, so I mean that was that was partly his fault.”

Belichick has been cooking in the offseason, building a stacked North Carolina roster, but fans have been more focused on the off-field drama in Chapel Hill, including Hudson requesting the UNC athletic department staff to copy her on all emails involving the head coach. Multiple videos have also shown her speaking with Belichick and other UNC staff during practice.

But Belichick insists Hudson only helps him with off-field business.

“Well, nothing with North Carolina, that would be No. 1,” Belichick said of Hudson’s role. “It would be personal opportunities, could be a speaking thing. It could be an appearance on this, or talk about that, or somebody wants, whatever it happens to be, autographs or that type of thing. She’ll kind of help organize that for me.”

“One of the first things that came out was when North Carolina sent me emails. Saying like these people want to talk to you, these people want to talk to you, these people want to talk to you, these people want to talk to you, I sent back an email, can you please copy Jordon on these requests?”

“So, she could at least filter through them because there was nobody. We didn’t have a Sports Information Director. That was taken, because all emails are shared publicly, that was taken as Jordan’s running the Sports Information Department. That also led to the narrative, which is like totally — she’s not doing it. I mean, there was nobody to help me sort them out, so I was asking her to do it.”

We’ll see if the distractions trickle out onto the field.
