Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is considered by many to be the best prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he knows it. Carter, mocked by pretty much every expert under the sun to go in the top three picks — and by himself to go to the New York Giants at No. 3.
After racking up 68 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and four pass defenses in his junior year, earning Unanimous All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors, he’s certainly earned the right.

Abdul Carter’s Bold Move: Only Visiting Teams in the Top 4
After an extremely successful college career, Carter set his sights on the draft, meeting with each of the top four teams drafting: the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Giants, and New England Patriots.
The Chicago Bears, who pick at No. 10, and Dallas Cowboys, who pick at No. 12, requested that Carter visit them, but he said no, according to New York Giants and NFL beat reporter for North Jersey and USA Today, Art Stapleton.
“Drew Rosenhaus, Abdul Carter’s agent, revealed on tonight’s Hey Rookie: Welcome to the NFL that the Bears and Cowboys wanted Carter to visit them, but they declined.
Carter only took visits with the Top 4,” Stapleton wrote on social media.
With the Tennessee Titans all but guaranteed to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick — reportedly no longer taking calls to trade down — the question isn’t whether the Nittany Lions pass rusher will be taken with the top four picks, but when.
With the Browns and Giants reportedly both taking calls, according to ESPN’s Peter Schrager, a team could swoop up to try and grab either Carter or Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter with one of the top three picks. Otherwise, the Patriots would be happy to go with Carter at No. 4.
