The Tuesday night slate has three games on it, and there are two running backs worth your dollar. One of them is Jacksonville State’s Malik Jackson, and the other is Nate Noel of Appalachian State.
The Chanticleers have a porous run defense, allowing 164 yards per game on the ground (97th in the nation), and Noel is currently 11th in the nation with 651 yards on the ground.

He is the true bell cow after splitting time with Camrun Peebles last season, as no other Mountaineer has over 200 rushing yards on the season.
After being a DFS and CFF dynamo for the past three years, Grayson McCall isn’t worth a play. In transitioning to Tim Beck’s more traditional spread offense, McCall has struggled, turning the ball over as often as he scores.
Prediction for Coastal Carolina vs. Appalachian State
This is the first of many Tuesday nights with games, as Conference USA and the MAC will be taking over through the next seven weeks. On the first Tuesday night with games, we are gifted a nice Sun Belt fun belt matchup.
Over the past three years, this has been the marquee matchup in the conference, but with the departure of Jamey Chadwell to Liberty, the Chanticleers aren’t the same on offense. The scheme isn’t creative or imaginative like it was in prior years, and it’s cost them dearly with a 2-3 start.

McCall is 30-7 as a starter with a 2-1 record against the Mountaineers, but his only loss came in Boone during the 2021 season. The Mountaineers have won both of their home games this season by an average of 18 points. With their ground game, they should be able to corral the Chanticleers.
