The University of Colorado’s football team has added a powerful force to its offensive line with the commitment of Chauncey Gooden. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Gooden stands an imposing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 360 pounds.
Recognized as a four-star recruit, 247Sports ranked him as the 11th-best interior offensive lineman in the country and Tennessee’s No. 4 overall prospect. Chauncey Gooden: Colorado’s Powerful New Offensive Lineman
Gooden, a dominant offensive lineman from Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, is set to make an impact at the University of Colorado. Gooden spent four seasons at Lipscomb Academy, starting for three years under multiple head coaches, including NFL Hall of Famer Kevin Mawae and Super Bowl-winning quarterback Trent Dilfer.

He received TWSA All-State status and two-time Tennessean All-Midstate recognition alongside 55 pancake blocks, which earned him the Large Class Lineman of the Year from 615 Preps.
Gooden received recognition as the Large Class Lineman of the Year by 615 Preps because his pancake blocks exceeded 55 in number during his high school final season.
Weighing 330 pounds and standing 6-foot-3.5, Gooden’s size and strength are key assets. His determination to contribute immediately at Colorado was evident during Lipscomb Academy’s signing ceremony when he stated:
“Me and the bench, we don’t get along… I’m going there to get on the field. I’m going there to play, and I’m going there to be me. So whatever I got to do to push myself and work as hard as I can to get on that field, that’s my plan.”
Following his visit to Boulder, Gooden shared his mindset:
“It’s about working hard and keeping that work ethic… They told me don’t change who you are. Keep that same dog mentality, knowing that you are the best. So that’s my mindset. That’s what Colorado can expect from me.”
