One of the rising stars in the SEC is South Carolina starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
However, some have issues with Sellers’s accuracy, but 247 Sports analyst Brad Crawford seems to be on Sellers’s side.

Brad Crawford Sticks Up for LaNorris Sellers
While some have been negative towards Sellers and his accuracy skills, Crawford came to Sellers’s defense.
So many off takes this spring on LaNorris Sellers + accuracy issues.
If you’ve watched every throw he’s made thus far at South Carolina, most of his misses are timing related or strong-arming short tosses.
His arm strength’s elite and 16 heaves the deep ball as good as any.

“If you’ve watched every throw he’s made thus far at South Carolina, most of his misses are timing-related or strong-arming short tosses.” Crawford also noted that the 19-year-old’s arm strength is elite and that his deep ball is great.
The reigning SEC Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American led the Gamecocks to eight wins in his first year at the school. He completed nearly 65% of his passes for over 2,200 yards and rushed for 655 yards and seven touchdowns.
It appears as though he will only continue to get better as he gains more experience.
Can The Gamecocks Win in 2025?
Head coach Shane Beamer has found a way to turn the South Carolina program around during his tenure. The team’s nine wins last season are tied for the most since Steve Spurrier guided South Carolina to 11 wins in 2013.
With Sellers playing strong ball, he can take his team even further this season. Of course, the schedule this year might be a little tough. Beamer and Co. will face Virginia Tech, Missouri, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Clemson this upcoming season. Nine wins might not be out of the question for this team.
But if they could take it a step further in Sellers’s sophomore season, the College Football Playoff could be within reach. To get to the College Football Playoff, a team likely has to win 10 or 11 games, along with their conference championship.

The Gamecocks will likely have to win arguably the toughest conference in the country this season if they want to reach their ceiling. With the way Sellers played in his first year, anything might be possible for him and his teammates in this new era of college football.
